Top 10 Quotes I Live by Everyday
Do you ever find yourself looking for quotes in hopes that someone can relate to what you are going through? I do that all the time, I find different quotes for the situations I find my self in and they actually make me feel better about myself. I have come to terms with everything I have gone through, but that little extra motivation really helps.
My Pinterest Account is full of different quotes from different situations, whether it is hurt or inspiration, usually whatever is on my mind, you can find on my Pinterest. Today, you’ll probably find happiness quotes and tomorrow you’ll probably find motivation quotes. But I’ve been lacking in the motivation department lately so majority of the quotes will either be motivational or inspirational. Which is why I wanted to try something new and share my the top 10 quotes I live by each and everyday.
These quotes have helped me get through homework, through the darkness of my PTSD, and just the everyday shenanigans any college student will go through. I tend to lean more quotes from unknown artists but there are few quotes, said by someone well known that have caught my eye. So here it goes, my top 10 motivational quotes.
1. “Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. The best is yet to come”~ Zig Ziglar
This quote spoke to me because I have been down one of the toughest roads of my life, each and every day I have to fight for my happiness, in fact many days I wake up and put on a smile pretending that everything is okay, even when I feel like it is all falling apart. This quote reminds me of the movie Ice Age, they have to go on the most treacherous journey to get where they need to go but in the end they made it to their destination despite everything that had been through. The best has yet to come but when it comes, it’ll be worth the fight.
2. “Get up every morning and tell yourself ‘I Can Do This'”
I am sure there are a lot of people out there who have been told that they aren’t good enough or that they will never succeed but all I have to say to that is that you can and you will. By believing in yourself, you are taking that first step. When I was in high school, there were people that would tell me I wasn’t smart enough to go to college but yet, I’m in college and I am almost done with my degree. Use this quote as your affirmation in the morning to motivate yourself in doing great things, you already do what you do best but by making yourself believe in it will be the frosting to the cake.
3. “God is within her. She will not fail” Psalm 46:5
For the past three months, I have been going to church and I have been enjoying every minute of it. All of the darkness built up inside me was causing me to hate myself, I didn’t want to feel anymore but when I had finally had enough I had decided that God would be able to help me if I put my faith into him and when I did, the weight of the world lifted off of my shoulders. The darkness began to fade and I was finally myself again. By putting my faith and trust into God, I know that his plans will be great. I will follow his guidance and know that I will not fail.
4. “The want has to be greater than the need, if you want it do everything in your power to go after it”
A degree in Engineering is not easy to get, it takes a lot of time and energy. Most nights, I am up until one or two in the morning doing homework and even then that doesn’t include the times I spend in class or in office hours getting help. Thankfully, I became friends with some of the students in my class and they have honestly been so patient with me that I couldn’t be more thankful for that. They take time out of their schedules to help study for tests or help me with homework. This quote came from one of my friends, who helps me with everything. He is so encouraging and understanding even when I am beyond stressed. We were talking the other day about a test he helped me study for and he told me that in order to understand something, you have to want to understand it. That really hit me, for so long I have been taking my degree as a way to provide for my future family that I honestly forgot why I chose to become an engineer, I have only been looking at school as something I needed to do instead of wanted to do and honestly what he said just stuck with me and I use it for everything.
5. “We Rise by Lifting Others”
My entire life I was told that I would never do anything, that I wouldn’t make a difference and that is the only motivation I need to prove them wrong. We live in a society where the normal is bringing others down to show that you are better, but is that really true? No, it causes more problems. And that is why I choose to only see the good in people. To encourage others to follow their dreams and to go out and do what they want. We rise by not showing others that we are better than them but by encouraging them, helping them and never using their flaws or beliefs against them. The only way to rise is to help others do the same. Positive vibes create positive people which makes the difference in the world today.
6. “She remembered who she was and changed the game”
I can’t tell you how hard it was to follow by this quote. Honestly, finding myself took years and I am still working on finding me. I lost everything while trying to please others. I spent so long caring about what others would think of me, that I didn’t do what was best for me or for my mental health. I think I truly started remembering who I was at the end of July this year. That was around the time I decided that I needed to go see a therapist. My depression was so bad that I was going to run away, just completely disappear and start over somewhere new. Obviously, I decided that running away wouldn’t solve my problems so I stuck it out and finally, I am starting to love myself again and it feels great.
7. “Follow your dreams and work hard. There’s no replacement for hard work, and that’s true for any field. If you work hard at it, you’re going to see the fruits of your labor, I guarantee it.” ~ Seth Rollins
If you know me, you would know that I watch WWE all the time. Yes, I know it’s not “real” nor do I care because WWE got me through some pretty rough times. In fact, I watched episode after episode while I was at the hospital getting chemo treatments. I watch it because no matter how many times a wrestler gets knocked down, they always get back up again. They work hard for everything they have and never quit when something doesn’t go their way. This quote is a reminder that I am still here, I didn’t give up on life despite wanting to. I got knocked down more times that I can count but still got back up. Hard work pays off and each and everyday I see the progress. That is what keeps me going and why I watch WWE, giving up isn’t an option and the performers of WWE show me that everyday.
8. “Be yourself because an original is worth more than a copy”
We live in a world where we change ourselves to fit in. We change our physical appearance to fit in with the crowd instead of just being who you are. There was a time in my life that I went out of my way to fit in, I changed everything about me instead of just being who I am. When I finally realized that being me made me happy and living life how I want to helped me become the woman I am today. When you see yourself as who you are, there is nothing that will stop you.
9. “It’s important to remember that we all have magic inside us” ~J.K Rowling
J.K Rowling had a rough go at life before she became a famous author. She really has inspired me to find my passion in life and to do what I love. She has inspired so many people in her life’s work and I am so lucky to have found that magic inside of me.
10. “Believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable”
This quote is really for everyone. Sometimes when we want to do something in life we always end up not believing in ourselves and it stops us from following our dreams. We don’t follow our dreams anymore and we stop doing what we love because we don’t believe in ourselves. So go out and do what you love, follow your dreams and believe in yourself. You will be unstoppable as long as you believe.
