Surviving Cancer: My Story
I know I have always talked about my story in writing but this month I was given the opportunity to share it for the first time in public in front of A LOT of people. When I was in high school, I hated speaking in public. I would get so nervous that my voice would end up shaking, but I don’t know what happened. Whether it was me just getting comfortable with my skin or me just getting used to speaking in crowds because of both jobs but I love speaking in public now.
I spoke on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma foundation for the Pennies for Patients fundraiser and had so much fun. I spoke in front of middle school students, which made me nervous because I only ever work with elementary or high school students and was just concerned how the students would react to my story, but they were such an amazing audience.
So I do have to warn you, this video is a little long not like hours but its’s about twenty-five minutes. Keep in mind that this was my first time EVER Speaking in public so I was still a bit nervous but I had an amazing time.
I share my story to bring awareness to Lymphoma and mental illness, I also want to give hope, encouragement, inspiration and motivation to anyone going through something in life. If I battled through cancer and survived, all you need is a a little faith, trust and pixie dust. Don’t give up and believe in yourself.
