DoTerra Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender Essential Oil is one of my top 10 oils, it is on that I use on a daily basis whether it is to stimulate hair growth*, because I lost most of my hair due to chemo, Or to help me sleep through the night after a long day.
Lavender can be used in three way, aromatically, topically or internally. By diffusing lavender or adding a few drops to your pillow at night it will prepare you for a long restful night, this especially helpful when you haven’t been getting enough sleep or just had a long stressful day. Lavender can be used topically to soothe occasional skin irritations. You can also use lavender internally to help reduce anxious feelings*.
One of my favorite ways to use lavender is in cupcakes. My sister makes an amazing lavender cupcake with lemon icing and it is to die for. Here is a link to DoTERRA’s recipie of Lavender cupcakes with lavender frosting, feel free to change oils out, we use lemon essential oil for our frosting but you can also use other essential oils that are safe for consumption.
Lavender Essential Oil is distracted from lavender plants by steam distillation, stream and pressure are used to cause chemical elements to be released from the plant- separating water and the essential oil. A fun fact about Lavender, is that it takes 35 pounds of lavender flowers to produce just one 15 mL bottle of lavender essential oil. And the great thing about DoTERRA is that they source Lavender from its native area in the Mediterranean. So each essential oil doTERRA sells, comes directly from the area that it is native to.
Lavender is very beneficial, I have been using it every day. Since I lost most of my hair, I did some research as to which essential oils would not only help my hair grow* but also help keep my hair strong so it doesn’t continue to fall out. I learned that chemo is very harsh to hair follicles, in fact, I used to have super thick, strong hair and I loved it. Now my hair is thin, yes, my hair is growing back but I have neve not been able to put my hair up in a pony tail so it is kind of sad. UPon my research I found three oils that has not only helped my hair grow* but it has also strengthened the hair that didn’t fall out. Here is the blend of oils that i have been using to help stimulate hair growth*.
